Percepción de cuerpo en las mujeres con artritis reumatoide en la ciudad de Popayán-Colombia.

Abstract

Objetivo: indagar acerca de la connotación de cuerpo que tienen las mujeres con artritis reumatoide y el vínculo con la sintomatología propia de la enfermedad. Metodología: cualitativa de tipo fenomenológico-hermenéutico, en el cual se aplicaron técnicas de entrevistas en profundidad con grabaciones y diarios de campo. El trabajo de campo se realizó entre el primer y segundo periodo de 2015 con 17 mujeres con un promedio de edad de 48,07 años±6,29 con artritis reumatoide, que asistieron a tres consultorios de fisioterapia de la ciudad de Popayán, Colombia. Resultados: se obtuvieron cinco categorías de análisis que consistieron en a) el dolor y la inflamación una limitación para las actividades diarias; b) la artritis reumatoide una compañía permanente; c) cambios obligados en mi estilo de vida por mi salud; d) acepto mi cuerpo como es y con lo que tiene; e) mis deformidades una limitación social. Conclusiones: se evidenció que la mujer con artritis reumatoide de la ciudad de Popayán, Colombia, acepta su condición patológica pese al dolor y la inflamación asociados, pero a la vez genera en ella una lucha para mantenerse dentro del rango normal para la realización de sus actividades cotidianas, propiciando cambios en su estilo y modo de vida para estabilizar su enfermedad y desarrollar adecuadamente sus actividades diarias tanto del hogar como laboralmente; a la vez, no manifiesta incomodidad por su cuerpo, el cual acepta, pero intuye situaciones discapacitantes, cuando se enfrenta a la sociedad, la que en ciertas circunstancias la subvalora y la juzga, con una mirada inquisidora. Objective. To inquire about the connotation of body that has women with rheumatoid arthritis and the link with the own symptomatology of the disease. Methodology. Qualitative of the phenomenological-hermeneutic type, in which techniques of in-depth interviews with field recordings and diaries were applied. Field work was performed between the first and second periods of 2015 with 17 women with a mean age of 48.07 years ± 6.29 years with Rheumatoid Arthritis, who attended three physical therapy clinics in the city of Popayán-Colombia. Results. Five categories of analysis were obtained that consisted of: a) Pain and inflammation a limitation for daily activities; B) Rheumatoid Arthritis a permanent company; C) forced changes in my lifestyle for my health; D) I accept my body as it is and with what it has; E) My deformities a social limitation. Conclusions. It was evidenced that the woman with rheumatoid arthritis of the City of Popayán-Colombia, accepts its pathological condition despite the pain and the associated inflammation, but at the same time it generates in her a struggle to stay within the normal range for the accomplishment of its daily activities , Promoting changes in their style and way of life to stabilize their illness and adequately develop their daily activities both home and work; At the same time, does not show discomfort for his body which he accepts, but he intuits disabling situations when he confronts society, which in certain circumstances undervalues and judges, with an inquisitive look.
